Advocacy & Fellowship
We gather our community in worship and fellowship, and create and participate in advocacy opportunities. Together we make our voices heard as we reflect and take action from our own particular theological frameworks. We are in solidarity with one another to make the church a place where all are truly welcome. We provide a witness, making plain the reality that God has created us all with “fear and wonderment.” Indeed, none of God’s creation will be cast aside and all are invited into the Christian journey.
Education
Presbyterian Welcome staff and volunteers lead a variety of educational presentations about the history of the LGBT movement in the Presbyterian Church, the “state” of ordination today, and the intersection between sexuality, gender expression and our Presbyterian faith tradition.
Support for Queer and LGBTQ Inquirers and Candidates
Presbyterian Welcome supports a number of queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender candidates for the ministry through providing community, education and spiritual and emotional support.
For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
